Mauritius

“If I’m an advocate for anything, it’s to move. As far as you can, as much as you can. Across the ocean, or simply across the river. Travel is about the gorgeous feeling of teetering in the unknown.” #Bourdain

In 2022, I travelled from the Philippines to Mauritius (7,931 km/4,928 miles) to witness the Pearl of the Indian Ocean. Mauritius is a beautiful tropical island renowned for its coastal bounties with pristine beaches and extensive coral reefs set against the backdrop of sculptured volcanic mountain scenery.

I spent a wonderful week in Mauritius and stayed at the amazing Lux Grande Gaube. I went snorkeling, saw/swam with dolphins, cycled around Grand Gaube area, took a tour of Port Louis, gorged on Dholl Puri and Alooda, got tipsy on Chamarel rum and more. It was my first time to see a living floating coral surrounded by fishes, algae, anemones, and turtles.

Here’s a wrap to my stay in beautiful Mauritius. It was hard to leave this paradise!
